UNIVERSITY OF PATRAS – LABORATORY FOR MANUFACTURING SYSTEMS AND AUTOMATION (LMS)
The project aims to address the challenges posed by the shift from mass production to customization, which has created new demands for conventional production lines that have traditionally focused on single product variants or product families.
To meet these evolving needs, the MASTERLY project seeks to develop flexible robotic solutions that can effectively respond to changing industrial demands. These solutions will involve the use of modular grippers, combined with cutting-edge robotic technologies such as mobile robots, high and low payload industrial or collaborative robots, and smart cranes. Furthermore, these solutions will be enhanced with AI-driven advanced control and perception capabilities, enabling them to operate autonomously. They will be capable of handling a wide range of parts varying in size, shape, and material, while also ensuring inclusivity for workers of all genders.
To achieve the project objectives and test the proposed technologies, three end users from different manufacturing sectors have been involved. KLEEMANN will test the new technologies in the elevator manufacturing industry, DECATHLON in sportswear warehouse logistics and packaging, and AERNNOVA in the aeronautics production sector.
