The increased industrial absorption of funded projects’ results is at the centre of the SPRING project. The project stems from the necessity to guarantee a major impact to the SPIRE projects and thus to move toward the objectives of the 2030 roadmap: increasing resource and energy efficiency in process industries of the EU. Instead of focusing on a small number of projects, SPRING is intended to develop and provide, starting from some case study projects, the methodologies required to improve the impact of all the SPIRE projects.
Objectives
The SPRING project aims at improving the progress of SPIRE objectives and the return on projects’ investments. The project seeks to achieve this result by meeting the needs of those who decide the adoption of process innovations and by detecting the barriers to their adoption. This will be done by providing SPRING participants – responsible people in industries and stakeholders – with a guideline, thus allowing them to:
- Improve the articulation of the exploitable results’ values of a project;
- Improve the articulation of the sectoral needs and of barriers to the adoption of exploitable outputs;
- Improve the mapping of the project value according to the sectoral needs;
- Identify political shortcomings and recommendations to improve the project impact.
