Design to Cost: methods and tools for estimating the cost of the product

Event description
CRIT organizes an inter-company training course on the theme “Design to Cost: methods and tools for estimating the cost of the product”, with the collaboration of the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia and HyperLean Srl (CRIT Endorsed Suppliers Network), a specialized company in the development of innovative software solutions to support the design and product development cycle.
Course contents
The course will last 16 hours (4 half days lasting 4 hours) and will take place from Thursday 22 October at CRIT.
The following topics will be covered during the sessions:
- Understand the importance of cost-oriented design according to the concepts of Design to Cost and LifeCycle Costing
- Compare different methodologies for cost estimation in the design phase
- Deepen the knowledge-based approach to cost estimation
- Analyze the workflow for cost management right from the design stages
- Analyze production costs for different classes of components and assemblies
- Deepen the LeanCOST tool in its interfaces and functionality through application examples
Each training day will be organized so as to provide participants with both a theoretical introduction and a practical phase, through the performance of group activities.
