Descrizione evento
Wireless technologies, among which inductive, capacitive, radio frequency (RF) and optical systems, represent a pivotal evolution in power and data transmission, significantly advancing industrial applications beyond traditional contacting slip rings. Unlike slip rings, which physically transfer electrical signals and power through rotating interfaces, wireless solutions eliminate mechanical wear, reduce maintenance needs, enhance reliability and allow to reach extremely high data rates. This seminar will explore this topic in depth, starting from an introductory overview about the main technologies, reviewing key industrial use cases and then emphasizing recent advancements in innovative technologies: Optical Wireless Communication, Li-Fi and mmWave systems (ST60 chip).
Starting from a technological overview of the topic by CRIT, the event will feature Walter Kraus GmbH, a leading company in the field of slip rings, that will share industrial use cases of wireless technologies, CNR-INO that will survey the main aspects of Optical Wireless Communication and STMicroelectronics that will present a dedicated hardware solution for mmWave technology.
