H2020 TAPPS Project
A partnership between Energica Motor Company, ST Microelectronics and fortiss GmbH for the development of safe applications.
On 1 January 2015 the “TAPPS” Project has been initiated (Trusted Application for Open CPS), funded by the European Commission within the Horizon 2020 Framework and aiming to the development of a set of applications for Cyber-Physical systems able to guarantee a high degree of reliability and therefore able to manage different critical aspects for human safety in a wide range of products. TAPPS is one of the eight projects financed by the call for proposals ICT-01-2014: Smart Cyber-Physical Systems – RIA, over a total number of 140 proposal submitted in the call. Among the partners of the Project, an important role is played by ST Microelectronics, the San Raffaele Foundation and the German Research Center specialized in embedded systems, fortiss GmbH.
CRIT and Energica (an enterprise of the Excellence Suppliers Network of CRIT, with expertise in the design and development of mechanical components for the racing automotive sector) will be focusing on one of the two test cases included in the project. In more details, the applications will be created for Energica, the first Italian superbike completely based on electric energy supply.
Thanks to the activities carried out within the TAPPS project, Energica will be able to set up a series of after-sales services based on a trusted technology, able to deliver a guaranteed advanced use of the connectivity functions of the motorbike, combined with an high level of safety for the driver.
The TAPPS project will have a duration of 36 months and received a financial support of 3,9 millions of Euro.
