Thomson Reuters<\/a> ha recentemente pubblicato il report “Research Front 2013 – 100 Top-ranked Specialities in the Sciences an<\/strong>d Social Sciences<\/strong>“, attraverso il quale presenta i primi 100 fronti di ricerca<\/strong> del 2013<\/strong>, relativi a 10 macro-aree<\/strong> delle scienze <\/strong>e delle scienze sociali<\/strong>, emersi da un’importante attivit\u00e0 di analisi e monitoraggio delle pubblicazioni scientifiche. Tali fronti rappresentano le aree in cui si sta concentrando l’attivit\u00e0 di ricerca a livello mondiale e che, quindi, rappresentano ambiti chiave da monitorare nel corso del 2013.<\/p>\n

E’ interessante notare come emergano dall’analisi di cos\u00ec grandi quantit\u00e0 di informazioni, “hot areas<\/em>” che non sarebbero in altro modo identificabili, cos\u00ec come relazioni fra soggetti di ricerca, non formalmente collagati fra di loro, che concentrano i propri sforzi sugli stessi temi.<\/p>\n

Il report presenta un’ampia rassegna di fronti della ricerca, fra i quali si citano a titolo d’esempio: il cambiamento climatico<\/strong> ed i suoi effetti; la ricerca in campo energetic<\/strong>o; il calcolo <\/strong>per l’analisi, la visualizzazione e la modellazione; l’importanza della tecnolologia <\/strong>come potente strumento per guidare le scoperte scientifiche e, sostanzialmente, le innovazioni che trasformano la nostra realt\u00e0.<\/p>\n

Entrando nel merito dei contenuti, \u00e8 interesesante notare come risulti, ad esempio, particolarmente intensa l’attivit\u00e0 di ricerca , nella macro-area “Chemistry and Material Science<\/strong>“, sullo sviluppo e messa a punto di processi produttivi roll-to-roll <\/strong>per realizzare celle fotovoltaiche organiche<\/strong>. Si tratta di uno dei temi chiave per permettere l’effettiva competizione delle celle fotovoltaiche organiche rispetto a quelle tradizionali in silicio. Le celle fotovoltaiche polimeriche proprio per il loro costo contenuto (dovuto proprio ai processi produttivi di cui sopra), il loro ridotto impatto ambientale, la loro leggerezza e flessibilit\u00e0 risultano essere molto promettenti. Tuttavia serve ancora un’accurata ed approfondita ricerca per migliorarne l’affidabilit\u00e0 e l’efficienza. Su questo fronte sembrano muoversi vari attori a livello internazionale.<\/p>\n
